I call you a friend, even if I’ve never met you, because that’s exactly what you are to me. Every person in this world is unique and special in their own way, and I love learning how through friendship. So I am going to be real with you about who I am through this blog, and I would love to learn more about you through the comments!
Introducing myself via internet is difficult to do because I’m not sure exactly what it is you’re wanting to know. Do you want to know more about my childhood or more about my formative years in college? Perhaps you’re only interested in what I’m doing now. For the sake of time and energy, I’ll be brief.I’m a twenty something woman who recently graduated from university and is currently in seminary. I also recently moved back to Texas after spending 9 months living in Costa Rica. I was on a long term church planting mission team for 2 years, and now I’m just trying to figure out what’s next.
I received a BA in Spanish from Abilene Christian University and while there was poured into and mentored by countless men and women who love the Lord. I didn’t exactly grow up in the church, but over the past 10-12 years I’ve been able to see God slowly restore hearts and relationships in my family. My childhood was fairly chaotic and strange, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. I’m convinced that’s where my love for different cultures and different perspectives come from.
I enjoy getting to know people and am passionate about learning languages so that I can have conversations with people different from me. I think contrast is absolutely beautiful and fascinating. I have fun trying new things – even if it doesn’t always work out the way I expect. Above all, I am a Christian and desire to never stop growing and transforming into more of Christ’s likeness. I believe that’s the purpose of life. So here is me, trying my best to live that out and having plenty of “oops” moments along the way.
I hope that you join me in this journey filled with travel, new discoveries, heartbreak, immeasurable joy, and humility. May we together discover that God’s mercies are new everyday.
